Maybe I just need to learn to use iCal better, but it seems like it doesn't fit my needs. It does fine for scheduled event, but I have a lot of items that I need to keep on top of for work. Sometimes it doesn't require my action first, but I need to be aware that I am waiting for a response from someone else. The font on iCal is so bulky, so if I have more than five things to do it gets kind of unusable. Do you guys have any tips how to use iCal better or a recommendation for another piece of software to use?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you using the to do pane? Click on the little thumbtack in the lower bottom right hand corner. The pane will open up. Keep to do's in the pane vs in the calendar.

Yes, I am using the pane, but to write a to do with a name of a company like "Smith's Industrial Quote" takes up quite a bit of space, and if there are ten in a day, that adds up real fast. It's bearable, but I was curious if there's some better way to handle it or better program.

Maybe something like Journler?

http://journler.phildow.net/

It's free anyway. Kind of like the old Mac Journal.

kcmac,

Journler is a pretty cool application! I never heard of it before but it looks great. Well put together and nice features. Thanks!

You know, I had used this quite a while back and forgotten about it. Got to using it again the last couple of days and am really surprised by how good this has become.

I say if you like this one, you should support this developer. I will probably end up doing the same. Maybe you could request some kind of link with iCal as a future feature.

Good luck.

PS. Back to iCal. I am sure you tried this as well, but if you use shorter titles and then use the notes section of the inspector, your can get many more items in the pane. You can also make the pane fairly wide.
