Is there a way to have my signature appear under the text I'm writing?

Maybe I'm missing somethinghere but it seems the only options I have are either to have my signature appear above the text I'm writing or at the end of page (after the text I'm replying to) neither of these options are any good to me and I have to cut and paste each time.

Of course if I'm starting a new mail it can be OK but this is clearly not always the case.

Any help/tips?

what version mail/os x??

in 10.4.x, the option is "place signature above quoted text"..ie right where you want it...
