1. I recently had to send my ibook in to get the optical drive fixed. I had to deauthorize my itunes and give them my passwords and such. Now I can't buy movies and songs, any ideas?

2. My home computer is a PC and I have an ibook for while I'm at school. I have music on both computers that I like but when I plug my ipod mini in I have to erase all of my songs in order to get any songs from that computer ( if I had previously been on the other). I also have too many songs and don't know how to just select the ones I want.

Thanks for your help :-D

1. Reauthorize iTunes - If that doesn't work, contact iTunes because something is screwy with your account. For future reference, I'd take the view that a password like that, linked to your credit/debit card is none of their business, and you'd be better backing up _everything_, deauthorizing and completely wiping and reinstalling OSX before sending it in.

2. I think that the best way to get round this is by disabling auto syncing, and just dragging songs across to the iPod on both computers.

I'd also suggest combining your music libraries. Do you really need to change what's on the iPod frequently? Probably not, so you could simply consolidate all your songs onto your iBook and only use that to sync the iPod. It's always a big hassle to use an iPod on multiple computers; deciding on ONE computer to house all your songs-the one you have with you most-is probably the best course in almost every case.

Edit: I should also point out that this is really an iPod/iTunes issue. It's certainly not a question about iBooks. I'm going to move this thread to Applications. I don't think you'll get much better advice than iMacfan provided, but you may get some more hints about the issue.

I realized that I probably should have put it there after the fact but for some reason was thinking that it might be a specific problem for the ibook.

Thank you both for your advice.
