Refreshing Safari RSS feeds?

I've got Safari setup with all my RSS feeds in the menu bar. They all sit in folders in the bookmark bar and I use GrowlSafari so when any of the feeds are updated I get a nice little notification.

I opened my .Mac account yesterday to keep my feeds synced between my two Macs and since the feeds have stopped updating themselves.

For example, I have a feed for MacNN, which would update all throughout the day. I have some feeds that update every few minutes but since I synced with .Mac that all stopped. The only way to check the feed is click on it and let it refresh, which for an RSS feed is very irritating.

Anyone know why my feeds would update no problem every couple of minutes showing me how many unread articles I've got? I'm aware of the update option in Safari and I have it set for 30 minutes but when I initially set this up it seemed that option had no effect because my feeds were updating almost as soon as the feed was updated.

Thanks!
