I am new to the Apple family and really love it and glad to be away from the Micro platforms.
I made my first slide show in IPhoto which has 99 pics and 3 audio tracks. When I play the slide show in IPhoto it works great with all 3 audio tracks. I then sent the slide show to IDVD to burn a DVD and each attempt only the first audio track will play both on preview and after burning a DVD. Went back to the slideshow in IPhoto and all 3 tracks play, but when I go to IDVD only the first track plays.
Can anyone help and tell me what I am doing wrong?
Thanks

I am new to the Apple family and really love it and glad to be away from the Micro platforms.
Congratulations!
There are two ways to create a slideshow for a DVD.
1.) You select the photos in iPhoto, then you drag them to iDVD or select the "Send to iDVD" command in the menu. In this case, you will see thumbnails of all the photos in iDVD and you can also select the music, change the transitions, remove photos from the slideshow etc., all from within iDVD.
2.) You create a new slideshow in iPhoto that will show up in the list on the left, where the library and the albums are located. Then you choose the "Send to iDVD" menu command and iPhoto will export the slideshow and copy it to iDVD as a movie. In this case, you cannot change the slideshow from within iDVD, if you want to make changes, you have to do them in iPhoto and let iPhoto send everything to iDVD again.
If you chose the first way, then check the settings for the music in iDVD.
If you chose the second way, then there is something wrong with your iLife, because in that case, iPhoto should send an exact copy of the slideshow to iDVD and it should not be possible that the music in iDVD is not the same one you selected (and heard) in iPhoto. One explanation would be that the second and third track are from the iTunes Music Store and your version of Quicktime is too old. When an obsolete version of Quicktime is installed, iPhoto can preview songs from the Music Store, but cannot export them (or at least not all of them). If that's the case, do a software update to install the latest release of Quicktime.
Otherwise, please tell us what version of iPhoto and iDVD you're using, what Mac you own, what release of Mac OS X you've installed and which of the two ways of creating slideshows you've chosen.

thanks- I have a new 17" powerbook. The latest version of OS X has been updated and installed. The 3 audio tracks are from a CD ripped to the library and not from the Music Store. I made the slide show in your second example where it show the slide show on the left and has the 3 audio tracks in it- when I play this all 3 of the tracks play. The powerbook came with ILife 05' installed and I had the problem. Since then I have purchased and installed the upgraded ILife 06' and still having the problem. I cleared out the original file sent to IDVD and went back to IPhoto, opened up the slide show on the left and verified all 3 tracks played. then used "send to IDVD" command, tried to play and still only the first audio track played. I agree-if all 3 tracks are in the slide show, they should all copy to IDVD. With 99 pics in the slide show, I had hoped I would not have to do it the hard way and drag every picture to IDVD and then put in the audio.

I just tried to reproduce your problem on my Mac, but it worked everytime. How did you choose the three music files? I made a playlist in iTunes and selected that playlist in iPhoto. I also clicked the button that tells iPhoto to set the duration of the slideshow to the length of the music. The slideshows were exactly the same in iPhoto and iDVD. I also tried different music files, but it always worked as it should.
I have no idea why it doesn't work for you.
I know the following is not at all a solution, but if you need that DVD with the three songs now, then you could open iMovie, create a new project, drag your three songs to the timeline and position them one after the other, then use the "Send to" command in the file menu, choose Quicktime export, select "custom settings" and click "Send". When the "Save as" dialog appears, choose "Sound to AIFF" in the export popup and save the file, e.g. on your desktop. Quit iMovie, drag the exported file into iTunes, then finally go to iPhoto and select that single file that now contains all your three music files. Now iPhoto won't be able to somehow cut off two tracks.

I tried it exactly as you outlined on your last reply- at least I was doing it correct.
I will try your suggestion and see if that works-
thanks for all your help

See thread referring to iDVD with no audio.
I have not found a definitive answer but there is something wrong with iDVD somewhere!
My first movie I create in iMovie 6 lost its entire audio track when I used iDVD to burn the DVD. This process seems to work for some people but it did not work for me. I have over 75 photos with transitions, 6 different movie clips and 5 different audio tracks.
Your scenario seems to suggest that even less complicated projects can encounter this problem.
My solution was to output from iDVD and image file using File Save as Disc Image. I then used Roxio Toast to burn the image to a DVD disc. My audio track returned!
