Not sure what to do here...as some of you know, my Mac went funky on me the other day so I had to have the OS reinstalled. I had all my music on my nano before the incident so I was in good shape in that regard.

I just hooked up my nano to my Mac and it's charging up now, but the songs were not imported. I get a message saying "this ipod is linked to another library, do you want to replace the songs on your ipod with those in your current library?" I said no because I don't have any songs in my library and don't want all my songs erased.

What can I do to import my nano's songs into my itunes library?

As it stands, no standard issue Mac software is going to import your iPod songs back to your Mac. Apple dont want to make it too easy for people to do that, or it would make it too easy to pirate music from other peoples ipods.
Help is at hand tho, check version tracker, as there are dozens of apps which will let you reimport your music from your iPod.

for osme reason that program is not working for me. it says "no ipod connect" even though it is connected. In fact, it does recognize it for a split second because another screen pops up, then it disappears and tells me its not connected/

Update...thanks again for the help with this problem...I have another problem though....I am about to go home and then go out of the country. Unofrtunately I cannot take my Mac with me, but I want to be able to update my playlist. My laptop is..bleh, Windows though....is there a program similar to ipod rip that works on PC? I'll be overseas for 5 weeks in Italy, btw and my internet will be limited so thats why I want to kinda figure this out before I leave so I'll be set.

I have no direct experience with this product but know others to be happy:

Glad you got the Mac end sorted out, but just for my 2 cents Senuti works great!

Have a good one.
