Hello,
I'm Polish macuser. I'd like to record voice with polish pronunciation and use it in system speech. I've found that voices are in /System/Library/Speech/Voices, but there aren't any mp3 or wav. I think that voices are in files with names 'PCMWave', but I don't know how to record it.
Could you give me some hints or howtos how to record my voice? Thanks in advance.

Your best bet would be to source a commercial voice with a polish accent and use that.

Have a look at the new Cepestral voices, they may have somthing you could use.

I believe you can buy some kind of development package from Cepstral that allows you to build your own text-to-speech voices.

I really wish Apple would integrate something like that into the OS.

Very instructive. Thanks! .... Maybe a more useful way of replying would be to say that it can't effectivly be done, because the voices are not sound bites pieced together like the automated answering machines are using (You.. Have.. Reached... 8.. 5.. 3) but are rather generated dynamically using an avanced algorithm.

http://www.cepstral.com/downloads/

Cepstral has additional voices for Mac OS X, but no Polish one unfortunately. I guess they could create a Polish voice, but as a user you can not do this.
