What TETENAL is trying to say is that you can use Pacifist to extract iChat from your OS X 10.3 CD's. Or perhaps you can download the 10.3.9 combo updater from Apple and see if the latets ichat is in there. Otherwise use the 10.3 CD's that came with your computer.

Or if you aren't a huge geek you can do this: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ichatav.html

i can't use pacifist because i'm out of town for a long while and i don't have the OSX cd with me.

the update was the first thing i tried, but it only updates an existing app, apparently, thus it doesn't help my situation.

what i need is someone to email a copy of the app to the above address. i'm pretty sure there are no legalities surrounding it, and it would really help me out a lot.

thanks,
DC

Legalities? Who here holds the rights to distribute Apple's software? Not me.

Capt. Obvious posted a download link to what you're asking people to send you.

Just in case it might be in there, I downloaded the Mac OS X 10.3.9 Update and opened the package with Pacifist and the latest verion of iChat is included. Or, if you want, you can download both version 2.0 and 2.1 from here. Just let me know when you're done with it.
