i have been using "mpeg joiner," and it works well
the only problem is for some reason when you toss 15 diff mpg chunks in there, say "beatles 1, beatles 2, beatles 3, etc..." it lists them in NON numerical order and you have to put them in the correct numerical order one at a time. a real pain!'
once you've put them in order, it assembles them into one "chunk" nicely, but is there an mpg joiner that works just as well but intuitively puts things w/number suffixes IN the correct numbered order?
again, thanks

I use MPEG Streamclip. You can select multiple files from the "open" dialog box. After it's imported them, fix timecode breaks and export to a new MPEG file.

mpeg streamclip is doing a nice job
seems to be a little slow to assemble 'em all once you hit GO
have you found that to be the case?
but overall, i'm happy w/it - - so thanks!

the other thing i notice is that the file it creates is much bigger than the original components
for instance 175 MB worth of clips gets assembled into one giant clip of 3 gig!
now, i have been selecting "highest quality" on that sliding meter thingy; but i should be, rt?
but this is one bad downside - - unless i'm doing something wrong; such conversion ratios will fill up a hard drive in no time!

i prob have the option of running them through idvd and shrinking their size/quality, but that'd be a hassle to do for each file, no?
thanks again

Make sure you're using the "Convert to MPEG" option from the File-menu.
