I'm about to replace my aging 27" tube TV and dual 17" computer monitors with one 37" LCD that supports 1920x1080 (HD).

Currently I'm using the elgato EyeHome to hook up to the network and display media on the TV. However, I feel like this will become redundant once everything is combined. Plus, it won't display HD content and I feel like I would have more options with something running directly off the computer.

I'm considering an eyeTV 500 for connecting to my cable service and receiving HD content, so whatever I do it would need to play the files created by that.

Here's a short list of what I'm looking for:
1- controllable from the couch: need a way to hook up with a remote and have access to my content, much like eyeHome does now.

2- Play my xvid/divx movies and TV shows

3- Play HD content stored via eyeTV 500

4- Play a DVD (one less device in my living room)

5- music, photos bla bla - not as important as the video part, but would be nice.

So far, I have found MediaCentral and CenterStage which look like they would do the trick - or at least most of the trick. Any comments on these? Suggestions? I know there are some mac media center people out there so let me hear it.
