iDVD 6 won't allow manual changing slideshows

I discovered something curious today. I tried to make a simple iDVD slideshow with manual transitions between slides. However iDVD automatically advances the slide after a couple seconds. I can control backward and forward but the automatic changing still occurs! It is also not affected by whether I have the navigation arrows showing or not. It does it both when they are on and off.

I'm running iDVD 6
PowerMac Dual 2.3 gHz G5
And yes I did select "manual" as my slide duration.
And no my slideshow is not set to audio or "fit to audio" option.

Any thoughts or verification of this bug would be great
