The Microsoft Office 2004 has been performing horribly with the Intel transition. Powerpoint freezes when watching a slideshow, word takes a while to open. I have tried Apple iWorks 2006 and I really do like it....The only problem is that, Apple has not made an excel-like program with iWorks, is there a program like Microsoft's Excel out there and that would save files in the .xls format that supports Universal Binary?
Any help will be appreciated...

I don't know if either has a UB released, but try OpenOffice(.org) or NeoOffice(.org). Even if they run under Rosetta they may work better.

Sadly, NeoOffice will not work on the intel Macs, full stop - Rosetta or no Rosetta. OpenOffice.org 2.0 for X11 will but I don't know what its stability or performance is like (it is still in development).

Hey JKT, yeah I just realized that...I went to their website and they stated that they don't have enough funds at the moment (since it is free) but they are looking into updating it soon...
I really hoped Apple would make iWorks a complete work suite, since it is really easy to use and Universal Binary. All I needed was Excel so I wouldn't have to install Microsoft's version. I will have it installed until Microsoft comes out with Universal Binaries...
Thanks...
