Hi all,

Okay, here's the thing (as Linda says):

I'm running CCC to get a full backup of my startup drive. I don't know if this matters but, I'm running CCC from the startup drive which I wish to back up.

Anyways, CCC's been running and it's been showing "Copying.FBCLockFolder..." for the last 15 minutes and the progress thermometer hasn't moved at all. What does this mean? Why is this taking so long? What should I do next?

I was thinking about scrapping this backup and running "First Aid" to see if that would help. Good idea? Your insights please.

Thanks

You should visit the CCC forum and follow the instructions at

The most common cause of what you experienced is improper preparation of the target drive. If your issue persists you can post a request for diagnosis at the same link as above.

I've done all this and no difference. The above problem still occurs.

In that case, I think you should post a question on your situation to the CCC help forum at the link above. The two experts (they are volunteers) who run the CCC help forum have resolved just about every issue brought to their attention in the CCC forum except for a few that appeared to be related to hardware failures. Your issue sounds almost certainly like a software problem.

By the way, have you run Disk Utility (or fsck -fy) to check your file system, and do you have Disk Warrior, which can also fix file system errors that are beyond the capability of Disk Utility (or fsck)?
