Every time I plug my iPod into my computer and open iTunes, iTunes analyzes the song volume of all 1700 songs (every time....). Is there any way to turn this off? I don't think it needs to be on.

Also, the only two songs I bought from iTunes don't work on my iPod. They work on my computer, but not on the iPod. They were free as part of a Gap promotion or something. Is there any reason why they don't work any more?

Thanks.

There are 2 Sound Checks:
one in Playback, and
one in Advanced->Burning

The one in the burning section shouldn't have anything to do with his problem.

If Sound Check is turned off then I don't know why you're having this problem. I suggest resetting your iPod.

The iPod has its own Sound Check preference in its settings menu. Check your iPod too.
