I'm considering trading in my PB 1.67 for a new MBP 2.16. I do use Virtual PC when I'm on the road.

Microsoft states on their web-site that they are "studying" the feasibility of creating a Virtual PC for the Intel Processor.

Assuming that they do NOT do this, what are my options to run Windows apps on OSX? (Are there any other solutions that work on the Intel versions of the Mac?)

Just curious.

Several solutions are being explored, including some smart folks bringing the WINE project from Linux to MacOS X (DarWINE).

While nothing is finished yet, there will eventually be a solution.

If you need a new laptop and must have the ability to run Windows apps today, I suggest keeping your PBG4 for a little while until a solution acceptable to you is developed.

Perfect.

I'm actually extremely happy with my PB. The speed of the MBP is compelling though. :-)

Microsoft already has VPC for Windows.

It's just a matter of time before they port that to the Mactels.

Yes, but writting an application for Windows is quite different than writting an application for OSX, or even Linux. That's why you don't see more direct ports from Windows to Linux, the porting isn't that easy.

That said: I hope you are right and it appears soon.

Also: If you are on a PC have you looked at VMWare? (Superior to Virtual PC for Windows IMHO)
