In Safari, I am no longer getting sound:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...01&q=mahir

That page plays video but no sound.

On this page:

www.theblackhole.us

There is a flash sound when you scroll over the items at the top, and no sound...

I have a powerbook g4, all latest updates from mac, os x 10.4.5.

And sound works fine in VLC, iTunes, etc.

Well, I did that, and no sound in GarageBand, and no sound in Entourage either. Dunno.

The same thing had ahppened to me before. What I did was I went to APPLICATIONS->UTILITIES->AUDIO MIDI SETUP->CHOOSE PROPERTIES FOR BUILT IN OUTPUT-> IF YOUR FORMAT SHOWS 48000 HZ CHANGE IT TO 44100 HZ. I just played with it until it started working. I don't think it has anything to do with Safari but with the Intel's Audio Chip...

Hope this helped...

My macbook pro sound quit working in safari but would play w/ everything else (itunes, dvd etc). i tried the garageband trick and it worked!!!
the first time it quite i called apple since the 'puter was brand new and they said they "weren't able to do anything and i should just wait till media player is ready for intels"!!! what a load of crap since the macbook was fresh out of the box. as a new mac person i was VERY disapointed in that response! i will say overall i am much happier w/ macs than pc's.
