Evertime I go to a page with flash on it i get the error.

The page “HAMSTER DANCE VIDEO - Google Video” has content of MIME type “application/x-shockwave-flash”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed.

i've download the flash and showwave plug in and they install succesfully, also flash worked yesterday.

any ideas?

I have had problems with specific sites' ability to detect/launch flash across browsers (Safari/camino/FF).

Have you had luck at other sites?

Try adobe/macromedia's testing page:

http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/welcome/

And then try some other sites:

Adobe/Macromedia tells me I have a complete installation, and numerous sites work, but something like the audio tours here (which state they only require Flash v. 4) fail:

OTHER FOLKS PLEASE try this last site at eBay, trying to diagnose if it is my installation or not!!!

MANY THANKS!

The page “Macromedia - Test Macromedia Shockwave and Flash Players” has content of MIME type “application/x-shockwave-flash”, but you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page:

http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/...ShockwaveFlash

Do you want to open the page?

The page “Welcome to eBay” has content of MIME type “application/x-shockwave-flash”, but you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page:

I fixed this problem by copying the flash plugin from the OS X disk.

copying from what folder to what folder? on the OS X install disk? or what?

And did I understand correctly that it was working for you on some sites and not others?

For me shockwave and flash players are absolutely working at many sites, but not eBay's for instance.

Thanks in advance Smush.

Smush:

Thanks for the reply. I did a search and found it installed via spotlight...rebuilt my permissions, played around with java and popup permissions...I did it last night after a few drinks...unfortunately I wasn't a good scientist...did not test after each individual step/adjustment... But it is working again as expected for me at all sites...

Thanks

Seamonkey is the only browser I've used that handles Flash content.
