Here is a question I have. I have a PB 15" that came with iLife '05. I also have an intel iMac that came with iLife '06 (the iMac is the family computer). I wanted to know if it is legal for me to put the iLife '05 on the intel iMac and the iLife 06 onto my PB.
If it is legal, is it even possible. The CD's that came with the iMac don't seem to want to let me install iLife '06 onto a different machine (I've not tried the reverse, yet).
If anyone can advise me to the legality of what I want to do (I assume it's legal) and then the feasibility of what I am trying to do, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you,
O
B unce!
P.S. If what I am doing is not legal, please do NOT respond to the latter question, as I am sort of anal about the legal thing, since my PB is used for some business use (but owned by me personally).

I would assume that it would be legal, but I'm not sure. But, it wouldn't be smart to do; iLife '05 is not a universal binary, and thus your Intel iMac would have to run it via Rosetta (emulation), which would make it much slower.

yeah, I didn't even think of that.
I was wanting to try some podcasting, and the Powerbook is more portable, and the new GarageBand make it look quite easy. I'll have to figure out what I want to do.

Why would you want to use iLife 05 on your imac when you have iLife 06 on it?! iLife 06 is the same as 05 but with extra features....
And no, i doubt it is legal, since the license that came with your iMac is for one copy. That is the reason you can buy an iLife Family Pack, which has a license for up to 5 users (even though it is physically possible to install the single pack on multiple computers)

He was saying that he would erase iLife '06 from the iMac first; thus it would only be installed on one computer.
