I use the Citrix ICA client, v. 7.00.407 to log into my work network. I am thinking seriously about getting a Mactel powerbook, but if I can't do work stuff, its pointless.

Does anyone know if this software works with the intel macs? There is one thread on the subject in the forums on the citrix site and one poster says it works. But that doesn't give me much confidence for a $2500 purchase.

There is also a java client, but in my experience, it is all but unusable.

Thanks!

It'll probably run just fine under Rosetta.

Wouldn't that be an emulator running an emulator? Citrix isn't fast as it is.

But still, that would be better than nothing if I can get solid confirmation that it works.

Citrix isn't really an emulator I think. It's just an interface to applications that run on a server no ? So the speed's probably limited by your network connection. Not really the speed of your CPU.

I must add that my experience with Citrix is rather limited. I use it once in a blue moon at the school library to access certain databases on my PowerBook. Accessing those databases is pretty quick on my TiBook (867 mhz and 11mbit WiFi). Maybe the applications that you use are bigger resource hogs.

That said, Citrix is just an app like any other so I don't see why it wouldn't run under Rosetta. Of course to be 100% sure somebody on the forums with an Intel Mac should check this.
