Hello. As some of you know, I've been looking for ways to work with Windows from my Mac. My friend showed me a service called "LogMeIn", which he used to edit his website from school. I installed the program on my Windows machine, and then tried to access it with Safari. Safari crashed. I tried Firefox. "Applet CtrlRem notloaded", and over the java applet there was a red X; it had not worked. I have searched Google for a solution, but I cannot find one. It says on their website, "From any java-enabled web browser" which covers Safari and Firefox. Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks (Computer Specs Below)

It's amazing what you can find if you take a little effort.
From the LogMeIn website https://secure.logmein.com/
Is LogMeIn compatible with Macs or the Linux operating system?
LogMeIn is currently not a compatible download for a Target PC that uses the Linux or Mac operating system. However, you can use a local Mac or PC that runs Linux to access a Target PC that runs Windows.
Conclusion: Not compatible with the Mac.

I meant, how can I access a target PC? Please read the whole post before responding next time. Safari doesn't load the Java applet, and neither does FireFox

That's because for some reason, you need either a PC with Windows or a PC/Mac with Linux to login to it, not the Mac OS. Therefore, Safari for Mac and Firefox for Mac will not work.

Nope. Linux won't work either. Then again, if you have WINE with iexplore.exe (highly against M$'s EULA), you might have a chance there.

Huh? It's not against MS's EULA. MS somewhat recognizes WINE, although they won't support their software when running in WINE usually.

Reading the directions I think they mean that the software is:
Compatible with a Mac
-or-
a PC running Linux
to access a Target PC that runs Windows.
Perhaps your Java is out of date which is why it is crashing?

Because he's trying to log in to the PC, not the Mac. OSXvnc won't help with that. Though, ChickenOfTheVNC will.

It works for me with Firefox... from a Windows machine.
With Safari, I just get a black screen.
It DOES work for me with Firefox 1.5 on Mac OS X, but the one time I tried it, after about 5 minutes Firefox crashed. I tried Camino and that worked fine for the 10 minutes I tried it though.
The main annoyance (besides that crash in Firefox) is the window size. If I increase the size of my browser window, it has no effect on the LogMeIn app window size. Thus, my PC's 1280x1024 screen always has to scroll, since LogMeIn's window size is smaller. The only ways around the problem are to reduce the zoom in LogMeIn, or else use full screen mode. However, if I use full screen mode, I can't access any other OS X app directly. Irritating. It's a big waste of space too on my 1920x1200 24" iMac.
Here is a screengrab:
Note the scroll bars at the bottom and side. The whole app size on my machine defaults to 1002x848 for whatever reason, and I can't change it to 1280x1024 unless I go to full screen mode.

On the PC: install Hamachi and RealVNC server.
On the Mac: install HamachiX and Chicken of the VNC.
Hamachi (now owned by LogMeIn) is IM-style VPN. Once you set up both computers with Hamachi, each will have a unique IP address (5.x.x.x). In RealVNC on the PC you can set it to only accept connections from your Mac's Hamachi address for security.
Now you should be able to control the PC from the Mac via Hamachi's encrypted tunnel. I use this setup all the time to access the PCs at work.
