Thanks for the link. I looked all over their site, but couldn't find that info. I know that Exchange has issues with large e-mail boxes [i.e. over 2GB], but that's not the case as my mailbox is well under 1GB. Memory on my PB is 2GB so I'm not thinking that's a problem unless it tries to read all of the messages into memory prior to the search. The two times that it has occurred in the last month it starts reporting a corrupt database while I'm searching e-mail in the advanced search utility. I have not experienced any errors while receiving, sending or viewing e-mail. I'm using this for business so my mailbox is quite large, but well under 4GB and 2 million items. I'm pulling e-mail from our Exchange 2003 server so it is M$ talking to M$ so I'm hoping that the headers and structure would be handled at that level.
Is anyone familiar with the methodolgy behind how Entourage handles searches of the e-mail message body on large numbers [> 1000] e-mail messages? Does it try to load all of the messages into memory prior to the search, or does it search one message at a time?
