Since updating system software (10.4.4 or 10.4.5) iphoto no longer grabs the photos from my olypus sylus 800. It provided no trouble before this upgrad so I befuddled as to why it is happening now. I get the usual temporary disc icon on the desktop but it is not translating the file into iphoto. Any suggestions apart from upgrading to 6?

Thanks for any help.

I have a similar issue, once I connect the camera there is a process 'MassStorage' that uses over 90% of CPU power, insane, and the camera is not recognized by iPhoto, it was OK from day one, but suddenly, some iPhoto versions ago (cannot recall exactly which one) it did not longer grab the photos stored in the digicam… so I have to do it manually, at least the digicam flash card is still recognized and shown in the desktop so I do a drag & drop of the picts to the desktop and then to iPhoto window… annoying for sure.

Do you get something like this once you plug the camera with Activity Monitor' ?

No I don't see that in the activity monitor. What I do get in iphoto is that the file is unrecognizeable. I don't know why it is suddenly doing this as it has worked in the past. In fact it says "Unreadable files:1. The following files could not be imported (they may contain an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data)." THis is for "/volumes/untitled/DCIM/100Olymp"

Still befuddled...
