Quick question:
Runan audio application called Pro Tools. I have seen mention on boards about the ability to convert audio files to MP3 thru Itunes. Is this a free option included or do I need to purchase something thru Itunes. I have seen mention of boucing the files to PT in AIFF format and then converting to MP3. Any help on this would be great.

OS X Tiger
Mac G5 Dual

Thanks in advance

It's free. You can do the conversion also with QuickTime.

Save out your audio files from ProTools as a Stereo 44.1KHz AIFF files. Put them into a new iTunes playlist, and make sure that your iTunes prefeneces are set to Import as MP3 (you can customize the quality settings there as well), then click the Import button in iTunes.

drag the aiff file into itunes (either the icon on the dock, or the open window of itunes).
click ONCE on it (to select it)

go to Advanced in the menubar, select "convert to mp3" (if need be, go to preferences in itunes first, and go to advanced>importing to choose mp3 as your default).

i do this all the time.
