I just started my own website at work with frontpage 2003, now that i'm at home I want to edit the site, but I have no computers with windoze on it. I have iLife '06 with iWeb but I don't have the time to figure out how to use it. Is there a Frontpage for mac or something similar?

You can edit the HTML files with Macromedia Dreamweaver, but if you built it with Front Page you might want to start all over again.

Frontpage writes code like microsoft.

Frontpage uses all sorts of methods that keep you addicted to Frontpage, and that's a very bad thing.

Is the PC you use at work behind a firewall? If it isn't, you have administrator rights for your work PC and it's running XP Pro, then you can simply activate the Remote Desktop (in the "System" control panel under "Remote"). Leave the PC switched on and be sure that you're logged out.
Then at home download "Remote Desktop Connection" for Mac OS X from Microsoft and connect to your work PC from your Mac.

Anyone remember FrontPage for the mac? I've got it on floppy disks somewhere...

As someone else mentioned you could use other apps to edit the individual files, but even that can be troublesome. I would suggest starting over, you could certainly re-use any images and text that you've created.

As far as applications go, if you want a WYSIWYG editor you've got either the big guns (Dreamweaver and GoLive) or a bunch of more affordable options like Freeway Express or RapidWeaver. iWeb is easy to learn but you might not like it's limitations.

It takes all of 5 mins. or less to figure out iWeb.

I'm glad I'm not as busy as you.

Well, that might be a little harsh...it is easy to figure out, but once you run into roadblocks with iWeb you'll spent quite a bit of time trying to work around them...like the way iWeb likes to change text blocks to pngs even if you're using a web safe font.

My gosh, Frontpage has to be one of the worst pieces of software ever.

I know...unfortunately a lot of folks get exposure to it thanks to Office. The code it generates is laughable at best.

But I don't mean that as an insult towards unsuspecting individuals who use it, it's what they find on their work machines by default in many cases.

To be honest, your best option is to reassemble the page from scratch. This would be your best option even if Frontpage were available on the Mac, however, or if you had never switched from Windows. Frontpage is to be avoided like the plague: it's bug-ridden, bloated, and hopelessly broken.

Other people have already mentioned Dreamweaver and its ilk. If you need something free, you might also consider Nvu. You should find that redoing the page is actually easier in these programs than it was to create in the first place with Frontpage: you should be able to cut/paste the text with no problems, and the images should be similarly easy. After that it's just a matter of styling it all.

Whats the difference between:
-Macromedia Contribute
-Macromedia Dreamweaver
-Adobe GoLive CS2
Which one is best for making HTML websites, like Frontpage?
