adobe illustrator tools problem

	ok, i was working on an illustrator cs2 file and you know how if you hold the spacebar down the hand tool appears, and if you also press the command key or option key you can toggle between zoom in and out? well, when i press the spacebar i don't get the hand tool, i get the empty arrow tool! anyone know how to fix this? i've tried deleting all illustrator preferences....no luck yet. please help, this problem is annoying and it just started a few hours ago. thanks!
