Does anyone know what kind of content on the Weather Channel's site could cause Safari to crash? It happens very consistently on my wife's iBook. It is apparently something below the initially visible part of the page, because it only crashes AFTER she tries to use the slider to scroll down.
Most frustrating; please help!
Note that she is looking at a local weather page for zip code 78251...

No problems here.
Try another user account.

You mean another user account on the iBook, right? (The Weather Channel lets you set up accounts as well.) I'll give it a shot. If it works well with another user account, what could be the problem with my wife's account?

Corrupted Safari preferences or corrupted Safari cache might cause it. Other than that, I dunno.

So how does one fix Safari's cache and/or preferences? The issue seems to be creeping into oddness with other sites' content.

From the Safari menu, "Empty Cache...". Quit Safari. Delete "~/library/preferences/com.apple.safari.plist". Restart Safari.
You have to set up Safari again as far as tabbed browsing and all the other stuff that is stored in the preferences file. I've done this and it only takes a minute.

msuper69, thanks a lot! I'll take a whack at it right away.
Later...That seems to have done the trick, at least as far as The Weather Channel goofing things up goes. I renamed instead of deleted the prefs file ('cause I'm a chicken) but that should have done the same thing as far as Safari goes, and since it looked different (position, in particular), I guess it did.
When my wife gets home and has a chance, I'll ask her to see if it's "all better," but I think this really did it.
Thanks again!
