My guess is they're all mpeg files that were re-joined after splitting by simply concating the files instead of remuxing the whole mpeg.

Use VLC to play them instead. There are ways to remux them properly so QT can play the whole thing, but it's not worth the trouble unless you need to edit them or something.

Also the trial version of flip4mac (a WMV QT plugin) would only play half the file, but I believe they lifted that restriction in version 2.

TYVM, VLC works perfectly, and plays all my mpeg and avi files. although their version for intel binaries is still pretty much in beta it seems to work fine, but havent had the chance to test out everything.

mpgtx will fix, join, and split MPEG files that will work in QuickTime. This is the only program I know of for the Mac that actually works. Most other joiners (even after joining the files) still only play the first part of the first MPEG.

The Flip4Mac has changed their plugin recently. You can now play the whole WMV with their "Basic" verison.
