Here's a messed up scenario...right now I start up a Win2K environment via Virtual PC for Mac so I can use Palm HotSync to sync my Tungsten E2 with my campus' Oracle Calendar setup. The syncing conduit for the Mac platform doesn't work with the E2.
I would like to use Entourage for my contacts and calendar, but haven't done so because the E2 isn't fully compatible with the old Entourage conduit. Only one address is allowed, no birthday or IM address fields are synced even though Entourage and the E2 both have them.
Now there's this ability to sync Entourage with iCal and Address Book, so I'm wondering if syncing my E2 with iCal/AB will provide a means of properly syncing the E2 with Entourage. I'm trying to enable syncing with Palm OS devices in iSync, but it keeps coming up with the error message:
"The HotSync software is not properly installed or it has never been opened. Try opening HotSync Manager (in the Palm folder in your Applications folder), then return to iSync and choose Devices > Enable Palm Syncing again.
"If you can't find HotSync Manager, you need to install the palm Desktop 4.0 or later software. To download the latest version, visit www.palmone.com."
I have Palm Desktop 4.2.1 rev. D installed and it syncs with the E2 just fine.
Suggestions?
