I'm looking to implement some sort of good -- but not expensive -- remote software for my Mac. Since I'm working long hours away from my Mac, it'd be great to be able to access it via my Windows computer at my job.
Any good way to do this? I've seen Apple's expensive Remote Desktop app, but the price is out of my league and it does way too much enterprise style stuff, which I don't need. I just want to control my Mac from work.
Possible?

Also, if you're the least bit paranoid, search for "ssh tunnel" here or "ssh tunnel mac" on the rest of the web.

The first on the list here links to a very instructive video on how to set up remote access:

PER3:
That divintomark.org process (& video explanation) is quite awesome. ...and daunting.
Obviously it's not going to be something you do at any only PC you happen to be in front of on a given day. But if you're stuck at the same one every day it looks very smoothe.
They went to a LOT of work on that documentation. I didn't explore what cost might be associated with PUTTY and other utilities, but I'm guessing it's not all freeware.

I just had a look at the links to the utilities on the site, and it seems that they are all free. I think you get to pay with your blood and the sweat of your brow when setting the thing up. Probably you can modify the security so that you can log in from any machine (a key on a thumb drive, or something).
But you're right, someone sure pulled out all stops for the sake of our enlightenment.
