I have an old osx box that records video of motion in the driveway. The hard drive will fill up, and the app(evocam) will stop recording.

Is there some app that can email me when the hard drive is getting low, or delete the older movie documents?

It's been a while since I tried it, but doesn't Evocam have a setting that does this automatically?
Otherwise maybe an applescript that temporarily checks free space on the drive and deletes old recordings if necessary.

Any applescript I write would probably end up deleting the entire drive!

Does anyone know a source for different applescripts that I could patch together to get what I want?
