aaargh!

i was hoping for a new mac book pro (12"? 13"??) this summer.
but i need photoshop, indesign, etc to run well.

adobe says second quarter 2007...which may make me wait.
this is a long way off, and not sure i want to run power pc apps at a slower speed.

any thoughts?
how will this affect your new mac choices?

photoshop elements runs fine...

from my understanding of the adobe products run in line with the ibooks if you max out your ram. i had an ibook g4 1.07ghz and with c2 and it ran fine. i didnt use it much though and didnt install it on this machine.
Computers:
Macbook Pro: 17in, 2.16Ghz, 120GB HD, 1.5 GB ram.
iBook G4: 1.07Ghz, 60GB HD, 756mb ram (on sale for parts)

I would buy the computer I was planning to buy and upgrade my software when available. Kind of like I've always done.

It sounds like unless you are coming from the last PowerBook model, that Adobe apps run in Rosetta at the same speed you are used to. If you are coming from a monster desktop, then you should have expected it to be slower on a laptop anyway.

Creative Suite is life and death for me too, I'm waiting to upgrade until they not only have native versions but they've been out for a while and I know they work.
