I am just wondering, are there any business majors or grad students here with Macs? WHen it comes to Accounting or Finance careers, can you make it just using a Mac? I may go for an MBA but also plan to get rid of my PCs and just upgrade my Mac and also get a macbook pro. I'm just wondering if there are certain programs that are PC-only or are there Mac versions of the programs used by various businesses? I figured I would post this in the app section but mods if you wanna move it, be my guest.

You may have to look harder for them, but most apps you need in business have mac versions, or at least suitable substitutes available.
ie.....MS Office, SQL, MYOB, OS X Server

What kinds of business programs, specifically, are you looking for, Hazel?

I think that as long as you have MS-Office you'll be fine.
I'm going through an MBA program on a 12" G4 iBook.

I should clarify that I would be using software that would aid in accounting because that's the field I'd be going into. If I'm accepted tot he program I'll have more specific details. A student told me that a lot of them use tablet PCs....bleh. I may just keep a PC for backup but I sure woudl prefer to just toss em all out. I am loving this whole mac experience. Will like you said they oughtta have a Mac version or something similar if it's that important.

If you get a MBP, by that time you will probably be able to run Windows in a virtualisation environment like Q (and maybe VPC will be out by then too). Otherwise, you can install and run XP on it right now, so long as you don't need to use any 3D software (which sounds very unlikely given the subject area).
So, if you absolutely must run some PC software, you probably would be able to anyway.
