i asked this once before (insert "sheepish grin smilie" here).

my mail (2.0.7, os x 10.4.5) does not show a number count by each mailbox.
it did in 10.3.9...

only "draft" shows a count.

i rebuilt my mailboxes, but no change.

can't figure this out! works for my GF....

any ideas??

thanx!

Really? I have never seen this feature. Are you sure it's not a 3rd-party application that activates this behavior or something?

Are you sure that you don't see this?

It'll show the # of unread messages right next to the name of the mailbox in the sidebar. It shows the total message count for the selected mailbox or folder at the top of the title bar.

Edit: too slow! ^^^ what he said.

okay...
partially my fault, using a custom theme in shapeshifter, and could not see the count at the top.
turned it off, and there it is.

BUT...
what about the count next to mailboxes??

edit: went back to my shapeshifter theme, and the count is now there at the top. i SWEAR it was not there until now...

still curious about the count next to the mailboxes (my gf is in 10.3.9 btw...)

Again, this is not possible by default within Mail.app; however, if you know of a 3rd party application that can do this, it may work.

Are you sure it's not just un-read messages? That count does appear next to the mailbox.
