Why do I keep receiving multiple copies of e-mail messages, including thousands of good messages that I need to keep. I've been receiving as many as five exact copies of messages for a long time now, and it has become a major problem. I have to spend hours deleting thousands of unwanted messages.

How can I put a stop to this annoying problem? Thanks.

My ISP is Pacbell (Yahoo/ATT). POP mail.

I've changed my ISP to Clearwire, and still having the same exact problem with receiving multiple copies of messages on my iBook G4, running OS X 10.4.6. Some messages are duplicated as many as nine times!! Others two or three times. And some messages are not duplicated at all.

Messages on my old PowerMac 7300/500 are not duplicated. I'm running OS 9.1 on the PM7300/500, and using Outlook Express.

Did you ever solve your problem of getting multiple e-mails? We've got the same problem with a new MacBook. It's been fine for 2 months -- all of a sudden hundreds of multiple messages are arriving.

Did you find a fix? Was it your ISP?
