I assume others are using this software like me and am wondering if everyone else has the same issues?

I have a G4 running Tiger Server that has a bunch of movies on multiple sharepoints (separate drives) and recently got a Core Solo mini and thought I'd be able to use it as a front-end for the movie server. Since both are hooked up through gigabit there should be no speed issues. Well, for some reason, there is, but only when using Front Row. I can copy a full movie from one computer to the other (600-700MB) in about 45 seconds. but if I try to play a movie off the server it plays smooth for around 20 seconds and then there is a glitch. These glitches repeat randomly every 10-20 seconds making this completely useless. If I copy the movie over to the Mini first then it plays just fine. This makes me think it is the network, however since I can copy the entire 2 hour movie in about 45 seconds this seems unlikely.

All the HDs are 7200 rpm and bench at at least 35-40MB/s minimum. If I watch the CPU usage during playback it is no where near 100% so its not a CPU speed issue.

Am I just going to have to wait for Front Row 2.0? or is there some way to make it buffer the data more efficiently. ie. like in the Quicktime "instant on" preferences... ie some defaults write com.apple.frontrow. etc. type of thing?

Any ideas?

Thanks
