Is it possible to have a fixed slide playing a video in the background with transparent slides with nothing but text over the video slide? I was wondering if this would be possible for displaying the words of a song, but also having control of the order of the slides rather than having several text boxes on one slide with the video.

Sorry but I can't see any way to do that. I think you will have to use the text boxes building in and out over the same slide.
