I like using Apple Mail, but one feature I miss from some other mail readers is in the area of deleting POP mail from servers.

Apple Mail gives you the limited options of deleting immediately, or after one day, week, month, or when moved from Inbox.

What I'd like to see is both mor flexibility in the number of days, and the ability to delete from server when a message is deleted on the Mac.

I've looked in http://www.hawkwings.net/ but don't see any plug-ins that impact deleting mail from servers.

Does anyone have any other tips that can add flexibility to deleting messages on POP Servers from Apple Mail?

Thanks,

John

What version of Mail are you using?
Not sure if this is quite what you are looking for but,
under 10.4.x the Mail app has the ability to manually delete specific messages that are stored on the POP server. I am not at a Tiger machine at the moment, and I can't remember how to bring up that feature. I will try to find out.

I'm using Mail in Tiger. Thanks for responding. I did learn (here at macnn) about the ability to delete individual messages on the server, but as someone who gets 30-50 spam messages a day, having them deleted from the server when I delete them locally saves me from that hassle on my other computers. The spam filter in Mail catches most of them, so it isn't an issue when I'm sitting at my Macs, but if I pull mail from a different machine, or from the ISP's Web mail, I would prefer to have deleted them the first time I saw them.
