Anyone want to suggest their favorite software for this purpose?
Is there any decent "free" Mac software available so that I can even check and see if I need it?
Can spyware get installed on a Mac?
Duh...
I am running 10.3.9 on a G4 iMac...

There is currently no anti-spyware/adware software on the Mac because there is, currently, absolutely no spyware or adware on the Mac. Limewire came with an adware-like thing a while back (Lime Shop or something?), but the backlash was so intense that they took it out.
For now, just enjoy the situation of there being zero viruses, adware, or spyware for Mac OS X!

Tell him that's an illegal invasion of privacy, that you spoke to your lawyer about it, and have decided to sue.
Grounds: Inconstitutional Invasion of privacy.
Tell him, you have also contacted the beaureu for better business practices and they will be contacting him shortly in order to investigate if he installed the software to gather and sell trade secrets to the competition.
That should do it.

If he had admin access, or access to your account.
It doesnt mean its spyware. he could just have set it to upload your history or something. Adware installs without telling you and does naughty stuff. Your friend physically on your computer with your login installign what he wants is not ad-ware. you should learn to lock your computer when you are not there.
Sure its possible
