Hi
I subscribed to Onspeed (internet accelerator) last year and was very happy with better dial-up speed. I now have DSL which is great, but with the following problems:

- Safari and Mail are very slow opening, takes 30-40 seconds. (They opened quickly before my Mac was setup for DSL by a technician, he noticed the problem, but didn’t fix it other than to say ‘maybe Onspeed is causing the problem’. He checked the bandwidth and it's fine.)

- I don’t need Onspeed anymore, but if I disable it (or remove it from startup applications) then I lose internet access. Safari message = ‘unable to access..., check internet connection’. Access only returns if I enable Onspeed.

Has anyone else had similar problems with DSL / Onspeed? Or any suggestions?

I would appreciate any assistance, Thanks

Equipment: G5 bought early last year (love it! had a @#$*y PC before), OS X v10.3, I’ve downloaded all updates. Just standard software plus Onspeed and NetBarrier (virus and firewall software, needs an upgrade to latest version).

two possible solutions to the above

1) in System Preferences, Network, Configuration - remove all ticks from 'Proxies'

2) setup a new Location using the same setup details (thanks to JPFresno for that one).

Option 1 seems to work, I haven't tried option 2.
