How do I save a file in a subfolder? For example, each time I attempt to a save a file in text editor in subfolder located of my home folder, only the option for saving the file in home folder is presented. Thanks in advance.

In the save dialog, click the upside-down black triangle on the right. This will reveal a column view for you to navigate to subfolders.

"One ticket to Washington, please. I have a date with destiny."
