This is... an interesting problem that we have been having in the photo room here at school.

We have recently upgraded our licenses of Photoshop 6.0 to Photoshop CS2 using Adobe's TLP (gets rid of photoshop calling home, if I remember correctly.)

We got it installed on about 9 of our varied computers, and then something started failing miserably.

iMac G5 (2) 10.4.x - photoshop running well.
PowerMac G5 (1) 10.4.x - photoshop running well.
iMac G4 (3) - all have recently been reformatted with the same 10.3.0 disc and updated to 10.3.9 disc. One of them (Number 2, as it were) works, but Numbers 1 and 3 won't install photoshop. They will, however, let other package files (like iLife '05) install. - weeird!
PowerMac G4 - 10.3.x - same problem as broken imac g4s
MacBook Pro (5) - 10.4.x - Photoshop installed and runs insanely great on all of them.

I find it weird, wouldn't you?

I tried making a disc image from the photoshop CS2 cd on one of the "working" macs, no go, same error.

I did a reformat/reinstall on one of the ones that isn't working, same problem with a 10.3.0 install, so I'm going to try again once I get it updated to 10.3.9

At this point, my next steps are to get the computers fixed somehow (maybe to downgrade to 10.2.8, upgrade to 10.4.x or something else?) or to get the computers replaced (very unlikely!)

Thanks in advance if anybody has any ideas.

Upgrading to 10.4 worked - we are going to upgrade all of them to 10.4 just for that consistency.
