Am I correct in assuming that Real Player will not play .wmv files?

You will have to stick with Quicktime and Flip4Mac.

ALthough, Real Player (supposedly) plays quicktime files, so if quicktime has flip4mac installed then you would expect real player to open .wmv
I free'd my mind... now it won't come back.

WMP 9 for PPC doesn't run that poorly on my intel iMac (other than it being WMP...).

Or have you tried that already?
