Well as the heading states i seem to have hit a doozy. Since installing tiger i have forgotten how to do things.I installed the office CD and i cancelled the installation about70% there when i realised it was installing all of office when i only want word.I then tried to just drag word to the applications area and then i dragged it to the dock but when clicking on it a question mark appeared. Can someone tell how to please just install word.

Thanks

What version of office.
There should be a custom selection option in one of the dialog boxes.

My older version of office, I just drag and drop the folder.

Another alternative is just install office and trash the pieces you don't want.

Just open the MIcrosoft applications folder on the CD and drag and drop the Word Application into your Macintosh HD/Applications folder. These apps are self contained so you dont need to run an installer; just copy it.

I've heard of that bug. Does Word run just fine after that? I think you need to install the latest Office updates to fix it.

You DO need the whole folder. Word is NOT self-contained.

However, it's safe to drag-install the whole Office suite and then delete the apps you don't need.
