I used to be able to put a little graph on the top bar(next to the clock) that would show me my cpu usage, or memory, etc. after a reformat i cant find them anymore. i could find them by going to the activity monitor and then there was an option to add them as a graph. is there anyway to get them back??? thanks for the help

That's not a built-in OS X feature. Get MenuMeters.

One great program... After using a Mac for a while you forget the 3rd party stuff you installed. When I had a Windows machine I had the programs memorized that I had installed as every few months I would have to do an erase and reinstall!

Also note that if you run Activity Monitor, you can use its Dock menu to choose to display CPU, network, etc. in the Dock icon.
