hi all,

I really don't get this. Yesterday I installed the preview Xvid Codec for Intel and the Universal binary of the AC3 codec. Together with the already available DivX Plug-In this should let me view most of the videos that are out there.

And Quick Time Player handles them perfectly. The funny part is, as soon as I try to start a movie with AC3 sound in the finder preview pane, the finder quits. Same with FrontRow. It either quits or doesn't play the sound.

Don't they all use the same resources?
What is the reason for their different behaviour?

PS:
(Apart from me installing preview versions of codecs, I have noticed in the past that there are movies that QTP plays well and that are missing sound in FrontRow. This was before this install. Isn't that weird?)
