Ok. I am about to send a movie I made in iMovie HD to my entire campus, but the problem is H.264 does not work on every computer. Theoretically, if people update their quicktime to the newest version, shouldn't it work no problem?

I thought that was how this worked, but some people's quicktime was saying they had the newest version and they still couldn't play it...this was only a problem with people who said they had a PC...macs gave no problem

It should be viewable on a PC, but of course there are so many variables with PCs that some people may have trouble for some reason. It also depends on how new the computer is. Some may not have enough power to decode h.264 at a decent frame rate. You might try a different codec if you want it to be more widely viewable.

A computer running the latest version of QuickTime, VLC or MPlayer can play H.264 as long as it is powerful enough. It is just a codec and the above players support it.
