I have a Powerbook G4 purchased last October with 2 GB Crucial Ram added.
I have the package of MS Virtual PC for Mac Version 7 with Windows XP professional BUT it will not properly install.
I reside in Kuwait but purchased softwarte from USA and it would appear to be not eligable for support.

I uninstalled, rebuilt HD with DiskWarrior and reinstalled - wont work
i.e. either cannot install or cannot run windows programs.

Very start of install I get message:

The Start up Library Folder ("library/startupitems:] does not have
proper security settings.
To fix security settings click fix. To skip using items in this folder
and show message again click decide

I clicked FIX but apparently to no good effect

Then I got the message Virtual Switch networking could not be started.
permissions for the support were set correctly, but virtual wsitch
failed to load. Please report this problem to Microsoft. (Code :
A1004) Virtual PC for mac will run without Virtual PC networking.

If anyone can advise me of or point me in direction of a solution I shall be most grateful

Thanks

It worked fine for me.
Here's what I went through:

After running the installer on the VPC7 disc, the computer will restart with dialogue message boxes about security fixes.

I clicked the fix "buttion" and restarted. Next I repaired permissions and restarted.

I then ran the VPC7.02 updater (which I downloaded earlier prior to installing VPC7) and went through the final installation process.

Afterwards, I launched VPC7 and it eventually asked me to update my VPC Additions (so the mouse could move).

*About the message of virtual switch being disable -- I got that too and I just use the "shared networking" option instead and internet on VPC7 works fine.

...Updates that you have to install AFTER reinstalling VPC? I thought so. MS is often completely illogical with the way their software works...
