I need to find a tool to build databases that can be searched with great detail like filters and text searches and more power in the search.

I tried filemaker but it only gives so much untill you find the bottle necks very fast. Being that I can onlt search one table at a time and it can not pull in data from other tables into the same layout with out tons of hacks..

Aside from Mysql hard code is there anything else that will give me power to give a search tools like a webforum has for it's filters and such?

I hear access from windows has something. And while I dont want to use windows for this I will if I have to. Tried open office,, No good.
Need something with tools. Kinda wish there was a gui for Mysql

If you want complex searches, you'll be entering complex criteria; just buck up and dive into the SQL.
What are you hoping to search?

I just want to filter the searches via filter terms and a text search box.
But it has to be simple to use via anyone.
