iSquint...WOW what a great piece of software. i'm wondering how this nifty app produces far better compressed video files compared to quicktime pro. i had just a little over 5 minutes worth of dv footage that i needed to compress down into a smaller size, and i first tried with the imovie exporter (same thing is as quicktime pro, correct?). h.264, 640x480, 256bitrate, 30fps. it took about 15 minutes and in the end the video looked like big piece of crap. then i imported the same dv file into isquint, chose h.264, 'go nuts' quality, changed to 640x480, 256bitrate, and 30fps in the advanced section. isquint exported the video in about 6 minutes and the end result looks GREAT! and it's only 55 megs! i'm blown away by how great this app is and how is it possible that this is so much more superior to QTP? time to donate.

Most likely because it uses the opensource x264 H.264 encoder instead of Apple's.
