I sold my Dell laptop on ebay but forgot to deregister it from iTunes. The reason this is important to me is because I think my iTunes account has been registered on three computers now. Is there any way for me to de-register it after it has been formated?

The limit is 5, not 3. Anyway, there is a "Deauthorize all" option on your computer, but it is only available when you have used all 5 authorizations. Personally, I just wouldn't worry about this until you actually hit the limit. Then you can deauthorize all of your computers and re-authorize the ones you want.

It's in the iTunes Music Store, if you click on your account button in the top right.

And remember that if you use the dauthorize all button you won't be able to use it again for a year.

Can anyone confirm this? I don't want to be without my purchased music for a year.

What Person Man was saying is that you can't 'deauthorise all' more than once a year. You can listen to your music as soon as you authorise the comp.
